What each piece does

The pyramid is the general remedy. Vastu practice treats the pyramid form as the shape that settles a disturbed zone, and the 1+9+81 nesting is the configuration consultants ask for most.

The helix is specific to the north west. That zone belongs to Vayu, which governs movement, and a disturbed north west is the standard explanation when money comes in and goes straight out again, or when nothing in the house ever seems to settle. The spiral shape is the traditional remedy for it.

The strip roll is the fix for a room in the wrong place. You stick a metal strip along the floor or the wall to separate a toilet, a kitchen or a staircase from the zone it's intruding on. It's what consultants reach for when the alternative is moving a bathroom.

These are traditional vastu remedies from long practice, with no scientific evidence behind them. Nobody can promise you an outcome.

Reading your home before you place anything

Stand in the centre of the house with a compass, or the compass on your phone, and mark north.

Divide the floor plan into the eight directions around that centre. Most vastu issues come down to which room sits in which of those eight.

Toilet in the north east: the one consultants flag most. Run the strip roll along the floor at the toilet's boundary and put the pyramid in the north east outside it.

Kitchen in the north east or north: same approach with the strip, pyramid in the affected zone.

Money leaving as fast as it arrives: helix in the north west, at waist height or above.

Staircase in the centre of the house: strip roll around the base, pyramid nearby.

A corner that stays dark and gets used as a dumping spot: clear it out first, then put the pyramid there. The clearing is doing most of the work.

This chart is written for people working without a consultation. If you've had one, go with what your consultant told you.

When to put them in

Govardhan Pratipada on 9 November, which is the first day of Samvat 2083. Families who want the house sorted before the new year starts pick this day.

Diwali on 8 November works too, after the Lakshmi Puja is done.

Any Friday or Thursday morning is fine outside the festival.

Clean the zone first. Vastu practice treats clutter as the thing being corrected, so a remedy dropped into a storeroom corner full of boxes isn't doing much.

Wipe each piece, apply a kumkum tilak, light a diya in front of it and leave it in place.

Care

Wipe each piece with a dry soft cloth every few weeks.

Brass darkens with time. A light polish once a year brings the colour back.

Leave them where you place them. A remedy that gets shifted around every month never settles anywhere.

The strip roll goes on clean dry floor or wall. Clean the surface before you stick it down or it lifts within weeks.

Keep the pyramid off the floor, at waist height or above, on a shelf or a bracket.

Delivery and returns

Energising takes two to three days, then dispatch. Delivery usually runs seven to ten days.

Write to us within three days of delivery if anything arrives damaged, with the original item sent back for an exchange. Return shipping is paid by you.
