Starting a new puja room

A new mandir usually begins with a Ganesh piece, because he's worshipped first in any new beginning. That's the Ganesh Yantra here, and it's the plate you'll keep to the left of the altar.

The Meru Shree Yantra is what the altar is built around. The Sri Chakra has nine interlocking triangles around a single centre, and a Meru raises that diagram into nine stepped tiers rising to a point. It stands upright and you can walk around it, which is what makes it hold the middle of an altar.

The Brass Vastu Pyramid handles the house itself. It's a 1+9+81 set, which is the standard configuration consultants ask for. It goes in whichever zone of the new house feels wrong to you.

Where to place each piece

Meru Shree Yantra: north east of the house, in the puja room, raised on a chowki and facing east or north. Keep the space around it clear.

Ganesh Yantra: on the same altar, to the left of the Meru as you look at it.

Vastu Pyramid: in the zone you want corrected. North east if that corner is cluttered or closed off. North if money is the worry. South west if the house has felt unsettled since you moved in. Pick the one that matches your actual complaint. Put it on a shelf at waist height or above.

Lakshmi charan stickers: on the main door frame and on the floor just inside, with the footprints pointing into the house.

Keep the altar clear. No keys and no bills stacked on it.

When to set it up

Friday morning is the standard day for a Shree Yantra sthapana.

Diwali on 8 November works, and so does Dhanteras on 6 November if you want the house ready before the main evening.

If you've just moved in and your griha pravesh hasn't happened yet, do the griha pravesh first and set the mandir up the same day.

The short version of the vidhi: wash the shelf, lay a red or yellow cloth, rinse each piece in clean water and dry it, light a ghee diya, offer kumkum and akshat, then chant Om Shreem Hreem Shreem Mahalakshmyai Namah 108 times. Say out loud what you want this house to be.

Making it a gift

This is our highest priced kit and the one bought most often for someone else. Tick the gift option at checkout and the sankalp is taken in the recipient's name and gotra.

Tell us in the notes if you want it delivered to a different address and we'll keep the invoice out of the box.

Care

Wipe the Meru with a dry soft cloth every week and use a soft brush on the steps, because dust settles into the tiers faster than you'd expect.

Wash it with plain water two or three times a year, or at Diwali and Navratri. No soap and no cleaning liquid.

Expect the brass to darken over the first year. A light polish brings the colour back if you want the shine, and plenty of people let it age instead.

Don't drop it. The tip and the gateway steps are the thinnest part of the casting.

Leave the vastu pyramid where you place it. Pick a spot and leave it there.

Delivery and returns

Energising takes two to three days, then dispatch. Delivery usually runs seven to ten days.

For Dhanteras on 6 November, order by 30 October. For Diwali on 8 November, order by 2 November. Delivery is free on online payments. The Meru ships with corner padding, since the tip takes damage in transit.

Write to us within three days of delivery if anything arrives chipped, with the original item sent back for an exchange. Return shipping is paid by you.

Cancellation is open until dispatch. We don't refund a change of mind, since every kit is energised in your name first.
